CTAHR has always fostered collaboration with researchers and institutions around the world. Now those global connections are leading to an unexpected benefit.
When the COVID-19 epidemic hit Hawai‘i, Professor Samir Khanal of the Department of Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering reached out to his friends and colleagues in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Macao, asking them for face masks for a good cause. When they arrived, he generously donated them.
“I’ve worked with these scientists for decades, all wonderful people, and these masks are their gift,” says Samir.
All masks have been distributed to UH staff who are required to come to work on a regular basis. Thanks, Samir, for getting the masks all the way to Hawai‘i!
